From Glory to Glory Greetings and welcome to another great week in this month of success. While still exploring the keys to outstanding success, this week, I’ll like us to take a look at another important key: the Key of Discipline.
www.dictionary.com defines discipline as “possessing a sense of mission in the pursuit of any task”. This definition implies that when life is lived as a mission and tasks are approached with the sense of mission, success becomes inevitable.
A perfect example of self-disciple can be seen in the life of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ during his earthly ministry. Jesus had a sense of mission in all He did while on earth and this was evident in His response to His earthly parents when they went searching for Him:
Luke 2:49 “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?“ KJV
The most amazing thing about this verse of scripture is that He was only 12 years old when He made that statement and I can only imagine how many people at that age today possess such discipline and sense of mission.Today, this Jesus is seated at the right Hand of God because of His outstanding success (Hebrews 12:2), which is a product of Discipline.
Discipline is a major demand for outstanding success but a lot of people would rather choose to only do what is convenient. For a lot of us, self-discipline, is a lot of work and we’ll rather cut corners than do the right things. Inspite of the natural human tendency to avoid the not-so-convenient path –
