Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus Name and welcome you to another great week.
It’s been a wonderful month and season; busy for some, not too busy for others, lot’s of Christmas shopping, travel plans and the rest.  Two songwriters, Edward Pola, and George Wyle described this season in their song saying “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and you really cannot disagree with that.Well, the subject of the teachings this month is GODLINESS, therefore this week, I will like to share with you, a very important virtue that must be added to godliness, it is called “CONTENTMENT”

1 Timothy 6:6 “But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God].”

A content man is a man who has found satisfaction; when you find satisfaction, you have rest in your soul. Many of the sins people commit today are as a result of discontentment.
The very first sin committed (by Adam and Eve) could be said to be a sin of discontentment. God blessed them and gave them all they needed but they still disobeyed Him and ate from the only tree He instructed them not to eat from. They had more than enough to feed on, from all other trees but they were covetousness and discontent.

Satan tried the same strategy with Jesus in the wilderness, as he sought to make Him covetous for position and power over the kingdoms of the world but Jesus overcame that temptation, knowing that God had a greater plan for Him and He needed the patience to wait for God’s appointed time.
Contentment brings gain, while discontentment brings great loss.

A content person will always experience the sufficiency of God’s provision for his needs per time and the sufficiency of God’s grace for his life.

Godliness with contentment is indeed great gain.

God BLESS you!
