The friendship or association we keep has a lot of effect on us. Sadly, many people are not conscious of this but a wise man must be very mindful of those he associates with. It is impossible to become better than the kind of friendship we keep so keeping unwise friends will rob any believer of the fruits and great potential God has placed inside him.
In my personal observation, I have seen a lot of believers who are already aware that they are in unfruitful and unproductive friendships but they lack the courage needed to end these associations. You need to realize that your future is a lot more important than what people feel about you so if you are in an unfruitful relationship, the wise thing to do, is to end it because the scriptures cannot be broken.
As we begin to make preparations to cross over into the 2nd quarter of the year this weekend, take time to evaluate all those you call friends. Ask yourself:
- “what value has this friendship added to me?”
- “What areas have I improved on since this friendship began?”
- “Has this friendship inspired me and made me a better person?”
After your honest evaluation, make a wise decision on those to retain as friends, those to part ways with and those to add as friends.
As you do so, you are assured of a very great 2nd quarter with greater testimonies.
God BLESS you.
