Week of May 04, 2015

Heaven on Earth Greetings to you and welcome to this new month, where we will go through an interesting 4-part series on: The Use of the Tongue.

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” KJV

There is Power in the tongue, that power could be used either positively or negatively. Many Christians have fallen victims to wrong use of it, therefore my writings this month will be focused on some of the areas that caution needs to be taken, in the use of the tongue.

The focus this week is: The Hasty Tongue

The Bible warns us not to be hasty in giving answers (Proverbs 18:13) because it brings shame. It’s so interesting that even in making a commitment to God, He expects us not to speak in haste, what we don’t really mean; as Solomon warned in Ecclesiastes 5:2-7

The cure for being plagued by the malady of hasty speech is thinking thoroughly before speaking.

Remember the story of Jephthah, who vowed that if God gave him victory, he would sacrifice the first thing that came out of his house upon his return, without knowing that his only daughter would be the first person to do so. His reaction when his daughter came out of his house showed that he was a man of hasty speech.

Words are things that once gone, can never be recovered; therefore it is wise to take time to weigh our words before we release them.

Avoid being a victim of a hasty tongue.

God BLESS you
