I have no doubt in my heart that the themes of the previous weeks have been of tremendous blessing to us all, and have advanced our knowledge of the personality of the Holy Spirit. As we conclude the series this week, I will like us to examine another very important subject on the Holy Spirit: what I have titled: the Communion of the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”KJV
The word Communion here implies an “association” or “fellowship” with. This verse of scripture highlights the importance of association and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. I can almost picture Paul praying passionately for the church as he wrote that letter because he had a clear understanding of the role the Holy Spirit plays in our daily Christian walk.
Without the Communion of the Holy Ghost, Christianity is reduced to dead formalism and religious traditions because, among other things, daily fellowship with Him allows Him to direct our thoughts, our words, and our actions; He also helps us conform to the image of Jesus Christ. Therefore, God is calling everyone into intimacy with the Holy Spirit as a constant daily reality, even in the midst of the numerous distractions around us.
You have the most dependable guide in the Holy Spirit. He neither makes mistakes nor loses in battles. David, Phillip, Jesus, and Paul understood this; and you should too. So I’ll sign-off in the words of Paul by also praying that the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the Communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you, all the days of your life. Amen.
God BLESS you
