Week of April 06, 2015

Heaven on Earth Greetings to you, I believe you had a wonderful Easter celebration.

This week, I’ll like to share with you one great mystery about one of the things that happened at the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In the story of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as recorded in John 20, Peter saw something very much fascinating when he arrived at the sepulcher: the napkin which had been around Jesus’ head was found wrapped together by itself!

John 20:7 “And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.” (KJV)

The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, separated from the linen cloth used for His burial. This makes the folded napkin very significant!

According to Hebrew tradition of that day, when the servant served his master food and the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, clean his beard, wad up the napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know that he had to clear the table. The wadded napkin implied that the master was done. However, if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it aside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because the servant knew that the folded napkin meant, “I’m not finished yet, I am coming back” (Clyde Box In Jerry Shirley, 2006).

The folded napkin in that empty tomb means that “Jesus Christ is not finished yet, He is still coming back.”  Yes, Jesus is not finished as yet, He is still saving souls and He is returning someday to rapture the saints (those who are saved).

I strongly admonish you to play your part in getting more souls saved and also live a lifestyle ready for His return.

God BLESS you.
