Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus Christ and welcome to the month of November 2017. Prophetically, this is our season of Praise and we are expected to use Praise warfare as a sickle of harvest for the fulfillment of every prophecy we have received in this Prophetic year of Divine Exemption.
Many believers have no issues with Prayer warfare but when it comes to Praise warfare, a lot of us miss out on the right way to go about it so this month, we will be exploring a few negative attitude traits that hinder acceptable praise to God. I call them Praise Neutralizers.
To begin this series, I like us to examine a neutralizer of Praise called SORROW.
Sorrow is a feeling of deep distress caused by loss, disappointment, or other misfortune(s). Like Praise, sorrow flows from the heart so when a heart is filled with sorrow, it chokes Praise.
James 5:13 ” . . . Is anyone joyful? He is to sing praises[to God].” AMP
The verse of scripture above clearly shows that God detests songs of praise coming from a heart filled with sorrow. Little wonder that Paul, a man of Praise and deep insight, admonished the members of the church in Philippi to always rejoice in the LORD (Philippians 4:4).
Realistically speaking, there could be days when prevailing circumstances suggest nothing else but sorrow but Paul admonishes us to disallow such and rather rejoice in the LORD. Our focus in such times should be on the faithfulness of the God who has promised that such situations are temporary (2 Corinthians 4:17) and will undoubtedly come to pass. (Proverbs 23:18) Now a promise is valuable only if the one making it has the ability to come through with the said promise and our heavenly Father is trustworthy, faithful, loving, and all-powerful. We can rest on His promises that “grey days” are temporary; secure in the knowledge that faithful is He that has promised.
Sorrow blocks our connectivity and access to God, and songs from a sorrowful heart are unacceptable to Him. Against this backdrop, even in times of trials, I beseech you to refuse to allow sorrow to settle in your heart by reflecting on the goodness and faithfulness of God to you in times past and celebrate Him in “ High Praise.”
Again welcome to the month of November 2017.
God BLESS you.
