Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus Christ our LORD and SAVIOR; and welcome to yet another blessed week. We are continuing on our series this month which is on the Blessing of the LORD as it relates to our finances, and this week, I’ll like us to look at the key of Tithing.

Tithing is simply the act of honoring God with 10% of your income and profits. I always like to view and teach tithing from the perspective of honor because I believe that when you understand that, you will never want to dishonor God by withdrawing from giving your Tithes to Him.

In tithing, you basically acknowledge God as the source and giver of substance and with that understanding; you pay homage to Him by bringing your tithes in worship and adoration.

“And blessed, praised, and glorified be God Most High, Who has given your enemies into your hand.” And Abram gave him a tenth of all [the treasure he had taken in battle].” ► [Genesis 14:20 (AMP)]

As seen in the verse of scripture above, Abram responded to the goodness of Melchizedek (who represents Christ), by giving Him a tenth of all his treasures.

There was no law at that time, so the act of Tithing began before the law was given to Moses. It is an act of reverence and acknowledgment of God as the source and sustainer of the blessing we experience in our lives and there are many benefits of engaging in the act of Tithing as recorded in the Bible and as seen in many other examples in our contemporary world.

God desires to bless us financially and tithing is fulfilling our part in the covenant of blessing. When we honor God with a tenth of all our incomes and profits, we commit him to release the blessing and I guarantee that when you honor Him, you will indeed be blessed to become a blessing.
God BLESS you.
