Greetings to you in the Name of our LORD Jesus Christ and welcome to yet another week of word illumination. As we journey through this 2nd month of the year, I’ll like us to build further on the foundation we laid last month by looking at one other way of benefitting from the WORD of God. I am referring to the act of  “Meditating on the WORD”.

Meditating on the WORD, is simply the process of having deep spirited, insightful reasoning on the WORD of God until you can draw out the virtues in it. Last week, I wrote about storing up the Word through study but beyond that, there is need to meditate on the Word stored up in you.

Meditation can be likened to the natural process of absorbing the food we eat. Just like food only benefits the body after it has been absorbed into the blood stream, the WORD of God can only benefit us after we have meditated on it.

Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read

[and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.”AMP

In the scripture above, God Himself recommended the act of meditation to Joshua and today. He recommends the same to us because it is guaranteed to equip us with the power to “extract” the nutrients in the WORD of God for our benefit.

The solution to every challenge, the answer to every question and the ideas needed for progress are all contained in the WORD of God and one of the ways we gain access to them is through the act of MEDITATION.

I therefore implore you to please make meditation a habit because there are tons of treasures in God’s WORD for you; and they are waiting to be dug out through MEDITATION.

God BLESS you.
