Greetings to you in the Name of our LORD Jesus Christ and welcome to another week of building on the strong foundation we laid in the month of January. If you can recall, we have been examining the different ways of benefitting from the WORD of God and this week, we will be looking at one other way we can benefit from God’s Word. This is what I refer to as “Practicing the WORD.”

The Word of God is Powerful and full of benefits because it upholds all things but until the WORD is put into practice, you will never be able to tap into the great virtues in the WORD.

A good example to buttress this point is in the story of Peter in Luke 5. Peter was out on a particular night to fish. Being the very good and experienced fisherman he was, he knew the right time and techniques needed to have a great catch, particularly in that lake of Gennesaaret, which I believe was his usual fishing spot and perhaps he had made a lot of money selling his catch from there. However, on that particular night, all his knowledge, experience and efforts proved abortive.

Having toiled all night in vain, he was already giving up on himself when Jesus showed up and gave him the instruction in the verse of scripture below:

Luke 5:4 “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets and you will catch a lot of fish!” TLB

As Jesus uttered those words, Power accomplished them for Peter’s benefit but had he refused to carry out that instruction, he would never have experienced the benefit he got in verses 5 & 6.

The bible story above clearly shows that it is not just enough to receive the WORD of God. You must put the WORD into practice in order to enjoy the benefits, therefore, commit yourself to WORD practice and watch how things will begin to take a new turn for you.

Practice the WORD!

God BLESS you.
